i am trying to get the above card to work with windows vista windows update
has said that it has found the updates for that file and the company says
that it is compatible with vista, but when i do the updates from windows
update it throughs and error code at me #80070002 so i click help and it
tells me to go and do all thease things which i have done 4 times and still
the same results, so i went to the device manager and tried to install it
there it sees it and knows what driver to use but when it trys to install it
says windows could not install the driver for this hardware cuz it could not
find the file ???? and i have tried the cd that came with the card and it
won't work and i have tried the website www.happauge.com with there updated
driver for it and still no luck........

So anyhelp would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has a solution it

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that card is a little old for the chip
maufacturer to write a 64-bit driver. It's not a PVR chip so MCE isn't
going to work with it either unless MS changed things in vista.

It's not hauppauge that writes the original driver it's the chip MFR BTW

R U using Vista 64-bit or 32-bit?

Appoligize i for got to mention what version i was using lol :) i am using 32
bit currently and hauppage says taht it is supported for vista so i have not
a clue waht is going on and y the microsoft drivers keep having issuse

I installed the Wintv card that you mentioned and I received the same error
message when I tried to update from the device manager. What I did to get it
to work was go to the driver files on my XP install
(Windows/System32/drivers) and copy the file that VISTA said was missing. It
worked fine.

Sorry, the wintv files are in XP - system32 not down in drivers. I think the
one I was missing was HCWTVWND.dll

Don't get confused with a WinTV card working on Vista with the Hauppauge TV
application and running in XP compatibility mode with a WinTV MCE compatible
card running under MC in Vistal The reauirements for the later are not the
same as for the former.

Anyone with Vista Home Premium RC1 may be able to use TV by setting up
through Windows Media Center. Worked fine for me. No need for Hauppauge
files. Good luck.

it wouldn't work for me, but i have the drivers vista installed. I can watch
eurosports in messanger and or other programs if i use the tv card as input,
but i can not find any program to search for channels.

i forgot to say i tried the drivers on haupauge's site but all i got was a

ny program?

What build of Vista are you running? The HP Dual tuner card works for me.

The drivers used for Media Center and the drivers used for the Hauppauge
WinTV application are not necessarily the same. Since for media center
(Vista Ultimate or Vista Home premium)you must have a tuner card that
supports hardware MPEG2 encoding and MCE compatible(WDDM) drivers for that
card. To support running of the Hauppauge WinTV application or other
windows applications on any version of Vista you just can use older WDM
windows drivers.
With Vista Ultimate RC2 I do have one set of Hauppauge WDDM drivers for my
150 PVR tuner card that supports either Media Center or the WinTV2k
Hauppauge application, which I had to install in Windows XP compatibility.
