Hauppauge PCI missing video

Hi, I have a hauppauge pci tv card that records
to mpg files.

I used to be able to import them to mm and edit them.

At some point, I don't know when, the video
can not be decoded from the file and just leaves the
audio behind.

What changed and when?

Any help appreciated.

I think Movie Maker evolved a bit with v2.1 to being more stringent about
MPEG-2 files.... conversion is more needed before importing.

Why not just use Movie Maker to capture the TV feed as WMV files? Why do you
want mpg?

You could always convert back from WMV to MPG if you really want MPG too.

It's not showing as available in the selection window!
Only my webcam is present.

OK - but it should appear. I have a Hauppauge external USB TV capture device
and it works in WMM. If it would make your tasks easier then try and get it
working - I'll help. Which PCI model? Do you have latest drivers?
