Has to be hardware issue?

I have a system which sporadically, and frequently, seizes up completely,
and has to be powered off then back on.

I have been trying to trace the problem through event viewer, but there are
no entries at the times that this occurs.

All drivers are up-to-date except for an lcd monitor, of which there is no
driver available. Is this the likely cause (by elimination!). Given that
there are no entries in event viewer, can I assume my problem is a simple
hardware incompatibility?

Thanks Ike

Have you checked all fans especially CPU one is working ok? Can you monitor
CPU temp?
Lots of motherboard manufacturers supply utilities that can display this. If
not, a free utility from
www.sisoftware.co.uk
Has a module that can tell you. Assuming your temp sensors are ok too.
Worth a look if nothing consistent is appearing in the event log.
Hope this helps

I think that your premise has value - hardware problems
are RUDE and don't always display error messages.
Software is much more polite. ;-)

It could be any one of a lot of things from a value set
incorrectly in the BIOS to a bad RAM stick to a failing
capacitor somewhere . . . it's unlikely that the LCD
monitor has anything to do with the problem.

Good Luck !
