Not getting many posts atm, so this is a test
R. C. White said:Hi, mac.
Yours is the only post I see here after 10/28/06 - when "Jeff" sent a
barrage of a half-dozen or so.
R. C. White said:Good Morning, mac.
Your two messages and my one are here on the morning after Halloween.
Maybe you have ghosts or hobgoblins in your computer??
And I see a single unanswered post by "RideRT" after our thread. It's
dated 11/1/2006 6:21 AM my time (CST), or "Wed, 1 Nov 2006 04:21:02 -0800"
according to its header.
Frank Saunders said:Interesting. In OE I can see both of your first posts, but in WinMail the
first is R.C.'s second post. No explanation, just a comment.
R. C. White said:Hi, Frank.
I still see the whole thread (3 from mac, 3 from me and 2 from you) in WM.
I haven't been able to run OE for a couple of weeks now because I can't
boot WinXP x86. It gets past BCD, Boot.ini, etc., and starts to load
WinXP. I see the opening WinXP banner, then a long period of blackness
with nothing but a mouse pointer, then the blue screen. NOT the BSOD, but
the WinXP logo on a pretty 2-tone blue screen. This should be followed
immediately by "Welcome to Windows", then my desktop, but it isn't. It
hangs here, even if I wait an hour or more, with sporadic HD light
blinking. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work. The Reset button is my only
way out. :>( WinXP x64 had the same problem; a repair install fixed that
and I might have to do the same with WinXP x86, then put back all the
post-SP2 fixes. I don't want to hijack this thread in the WM NG, but I
suspect there is a simple fix that I've just forgotten about. If you can
remind me or point me to it, I'd appreciate it.
