cant find bois for this motherboard on www.intel.com. The chip: sb
82437vx.

Please help locating bios for this motherboard installed in a HP
desktop.

The chipset by itself is not enough to determine who made the motherboard,
or what BIOS it needs. If it is out of an HP machine, HP likely has bios
updates for that motherboard. It is unlikely to be a made by Intel
motherboard.

Most likely you'll have to get it from HP, as the Intel retail or OEM
version will have a vendor-specific ID code that halts the flashing.
 
The chipset by itself is not enough to determine who made the motherboard,
or what BIOS it needs. If it is out of an HP machine, HP likely has bios
updates for that motherboard. It is unlikely to be a made by Intel
motherboard.

It could be an OEM Intel board, but the bios probably has the HP OEM
vendor ID code in it, so the flasher may only work with an HP BIOS.
 
yes, the whole tower has an hp id which strangely is not recognized on
hp web site! May be they have stopped supporting this 11 year old
mambo. But would they not keep old bioses?

It is likely that they did drop the bios, etc off their web site. What is
the problem you are trying to solve with a BIOS update?
