has never burned cd

my computer has never allowed me to burn a cd. it automatically goes through nero 5.5 and when i try to copy music it says i have to be administrator to use the nero fast plug - in. it is a windows error. i am the only person on this computer and am listed as administrator.

Nero doesn't like co-existing with other burning programmes. Make sure the
CD burning service in XP is turned off :

Right click on My Computer > Manage > Services & Applications > Services >
Disable IMAPI CD Burning ROM service.

Uninstall Nero, re-boot.

Re-install Nero and enable it for all users. Re-post if still problematic.
