Windows XP Has anyone

i've seen some projected screen shots but thats about it, nothings been sneaked out as yet as far as i know.

do you know somethin i don't?

I've seen the screen shots too, but that is about it. I'm looking forward to seeing more info on it! :D
 
You've got at least a year 18months if we're lucky ... the next 'big' upgrade will be SP2 :spin:
 
hey everyone be happy i have some information that you have been waiting for so long i know :P

Waiting for windows

if microsoft is to be believed, its the next operating system - codenamed longhorn - will be revolutionay. But it could be 2009 before it makes a real difference.

first differnce - WinFS, to corral your personal files, photos and email. which is a indexing and storage system, longhorn will will allow more and better ways to find all your stuff. ~This will be helped by adding a My stuff folder.

Second - there will be an advanced search in explorer making it easier to pull together information and files from your hard disk, network and even from the internet. Not only will you be able to search emails files photos, related internet files, and web pages related to a particular topic you will also be able to locate those old snapshots from that old 1.3mp camera, or messages sent to your business using email addresses.

Third - a new communications folder tracking every single email message , every IM and every type of communication you have sent or recieved using your computer. wow

judging by the performance and functionality of the latest longhorn version, microsoft is going to need the next two years smoothing out those kinks. much of longhorns innards most networking, display and audio seem to be crippled or missing, a sign that the company may be completely reworking major factors of the OS.

In the mean time keep windows update running as microsoft has formulated a lovely update for xp, SERVICE PACK 2, but this patch isnt mae out like its meant to be. want to know more find or make a new thread on SP2, and i'll tell ppl more.

i saw some screenshots last July in a magazine while i was sitting in the unaccompanied minors room at St Louis INTL airport.

2009 is a long time to wait for a new folder..

This communications idea of tracking everything .. if you imagine with all the spam would you want loads of information filling up your HD.. (Maybe so if it helps locate the source)

This is the first time ive heard of this OS so im totaly ignorant of its capabiltys
