Hardware virtualization

I intend getting the Intel i7 920 CPU and an Asus P5T SE motherboard.

I would also like to start using Virtualbox, but in the manual for
Virtualbox it states:
On most systems, the hardware virtualization features (vt-x)first need
to be enabled in the BIOS before VirtualBox can use them.

I've checked the bios settings for the p5t se motherboard and it shows
a setting for vt-d but not vt-x. I've checked the specs on the Intel
site for the i7 920 and it states that it does support Intel vt-x.

Does this mean that I would be able to use the hardware virtualization
features by enabling vt-d in the bios? And if not does it really
matter?

Sorry if this is not very clear but I have no idea on using Virtualbox
or any other virtualization software-)

I think your problem is, the two settings are in different places.

VT-d is under Section 3.6.2 "Chipset" on PDF page 77.

Vt-x doesn't use that name. It can be found in Section 3.6.1 "CPU Configuration"
on PDF page 75.

I think your problem is, the two settings are in different places.

VT-d is under Section 3.6.2 "Chipset" on PDF page 77.

Vt-x doesn't use that name. It can be found in Section 3.6.1 "CPU Configuration"
on PDF page 75.
