Hardware stability/stress tester

Hello,
is there any utility which would test my hardware (RAM, motherboard, disk
controlers, disks, etc...) for errors? For example RAM stress test with
parity checking. I have sometimes problems with wired behaviour of some
computers which either restarting or freezing. Such a utility would much
help me much. One never knows whether reclaim the hardware.
