Hardware Recognition/Mp3 Player

I just bought a Rio Cali and it tells me to plug in the USB cable to the Cali, plug this into the computer, and then turn on the Cali. It says it should recognize it and set it up for me, but nothing happens - at all. Please help.

Is it supposed to appear as a removable drive in My Computer? Are there any
drivers required?
