Hardware profiles

I just started using a laptop with Windows 2000 and the
only change between my office and home use is that the
office uses an assigned IP address and home uses DHCP.

I can't seem to find a way to set THAT ONE difference into
a separate hardware profile. I can enable the NIC card
or not, but I can't profile one for assigned and one for
DHCP.

Am I missing something?

Yes, XP <grin> -- MS didn't add that feature until WinXP or Win2003.

You can (with some difficulty) write a NetSh.exe script to make
the changes.
