My computer won't start unless I switch off the main
switch on the wall and put it on again then press power on
the computer. when it does start, it goes off by itself or
keeps retarting whilst am working. I have to put the main
switch off & on to get it going again. I got a technician
to fix it but it didn't help. What shall i do.

Hi

It is possible a power supply problem
Are you sure all the power cables are firmly connected, especially the AC power cord that connected to the AC adapter of the machine? Try unplug and replug to ensure the AC power connections are firmly connected and with good contact
If still of no avail, check the ATX power pack

Try plugging the computer directly to the wall outlet, i.e., bypass the
power strip/surge suppressor.

LOL, JAX

I had a similar problem that turned out to be the MB. It used to exhibit
similar symptoms whenever I moved the computer before it failed completely.
Reseating the boards and cables temporarily "fixed" what was probably a bad
trace or cold solder joint. Just speculating on the cause. Good luck!
