HARDWARE PROBLEM

I am trying to attach a DVD Writer but when I plug in I get the message "USB
device not recognized". This does not happen if I use my laptop. It is
automatically recognized. Anyone know what the problem is please?

Perhaps your desktop doesn't have USB 2.0 and it is required by the
external writer. Perhaps the computer's USB port is broken. Since we
don't know anything about the computer with the problem, the DVD
writer, it's impossible to give you more specific troubleshooting.
