I have been told that i ought to update all my hardware
drivers. How do i find what makes of hardware are used in
my PC, ie motherboard and bios setup.
Regards

If everything is working, then don't be in too big a hurry
to upgrade drivers and firmware. The old saying, "If it
isn't broke, don't fix it" applies.

Some updates, if done wrong (wrong update, power failure
during process) such as BIOS updates can render the computer
useless.

But to find data on the computer I use the Bel Arc Advisor
free from www.belarc.com
and AIDA32 from http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php , also free.
AIDA32 is a more powerful program.

There are other similar programs, I think SANDRA from Sisoft
(?) is one, Google should have a list.

.
To find your system info type msinfo32 in the run box.
That will tell you your system information. Also you could
go to the device manager=start>control panel>perfomance
and maintenance>system>hardware tab>device manager. Select
your device and chose properties this will give you info
on your devices and also this is where you would update
your drivers(all except your BIOS). Your BIOS must be
flashed and can only be done useing the manufactures flash
update from their home web site. Your BIOS string should
be listed in the system info area.Hope this helps you!
