hardware Hacking a VTech cordless phone

So my wife and bought a new cordless phone for the apartment, and I
have this crapy Vtech, I was taking it apart just to see what is inside
of the phone. With three transceivers total(two phones, one base) I
figured that I could do something cool with them. I have to get
another soldering iron, my dad got me a Cold Fusion and it sucks the
tip broke after using it for a couple of hours. I don't know how wise
it is to use it with electronics because the heat is created by short
circuiting the tip. I have not found any cool site so if anyone knows
any cordless phone hacks that would be cool. I hope I can find some
doc on the transceivers,maybe I can put them in some robots or
something.

Cold fusion is a horrible soldering iron, just throw it away
because it is better for it to not pretend to work.

If you need a portable iron get one that uses butane, a
little torch type with the tips that go on. For regular
uses, even a junky $5 radio shack iron is MUCH MUCH better
than the Cold Fusion could ever hope to be... and I don't
really like Radio Shack irons much but if the tip is in good
shape and clean they are fine for most uses.
I have not found any cool site so if anyone knows
any cordless phone hacks that would be cool. I hope I can find some
doc on the transceivers,maybe I can put them in some robots or
something.

Hmm... from cordless phone in pieces to robots... I think
you are skipping a few hundred steps. Maybe the best thing
to do is figure out why the vtech was crappy and fix it to
work better so you have a backup/alternate phone again.

My Vtech works great. Same one you describe. Great phone.

I saw that on TV and thought what a cool device. Ha. Ive never tried
it. I was actually thinking of buying it but I guess I wont now.
