I've just installed windows xp home edition and none of my hardware has any
drivers attached. How do I attach a driver to the hardware? In desperate need
of gaming no sound ouch.

If your PC is a brand name like Dell, etc go to their website and look
for XP drivers for all your devices.

Also it's the devices not hardware and it detects them only it says I don't
have any drivers for them? When I purchased the pc the guy I bought it from
says they are all microsoft compatable (the devices). I've tried updating
drivers and uninstalling them and doing a restart. I'm about to give up and
just wait for them to attach lol. If ever.

The drivers will not "attach" all by themselves. You have to find
drivers and install them.

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor. The older Aida32 is good for this, too.
