hardware default setting

I just purchased the CTL 900vx monitor & installed XP pro
from scratch on a new hard drive. I have three (3)
problems.
1) I am not able to go in & change the the refresh rate
in the control panel-settings. It is stuck on "use
hardware default setting" "default monitor"How do I
change this setting? There are no options to click on,
everything is shaded out.
2) On some screens there is extreme flickering.
3) On virtually every page, there seems to be lots of
horizontal lines. Low resolution? Is there a way to
remove these lines?

right click on my computer, click on manage, device
manager, display adapter.
Choose update driver and then choose advanced.
If you have a disk with the monitor direct the location
to this disk, else choose from the list your manufacturer.
You can also choose plug and play monitor, and see if
that works.
I presume you have installed the drivers for your
Graphics adapter and it will drive the CTX at its max
resolution ?
