Hardware Compatibility List

Can someone point me to the Hardware Compatibility List for XP Home Edition?
I find references to it on Microsoft but not the actual list. I'm having
trouble getting a Lucent AMR modem working ("Port could not be opened") so
am thinking of getting a different/PCI modem. Thought I could avoid some
headaches if I got one that's listed as compatible.
