Hey guys, I have a copy of Vista home premium UPGRADE on the way and had two
questions for you.

First of all, will Vista run well with the following specs.
1gig PC3200 DDR
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Nvidia Gefore 6600 AGP 256mb
Motherboard is a VIA K8T800 Pro
I plan to upgrade to 2gigs PC3200 in a month or two

Second question is this.
Coming with my copy of Windows Vista is a Western Digital (don't remember
the model number) 250gb 7200RPM 16mb cache HD.

I am planning on installing Vista on this hard drive, and formatting my
current HD and moving it over to my backup. Am I going to have to install XP
on my new HD, then install Vista over it? Or will the install go like all the
rest of them and ask me for my XP CD in the middle of the install?

I know there have been some post on this, but I have seen some conflicting
information.

That computer should run Vista fine. You will have to run the Vista upgrade
from within a qualifying OS. There is no provision to insert a CD with a
qualifying OS during the upgrade. Some people have said this procedure
works.

I haven't tested it. It may be against the licensing terms of the upgrade
EULA.
