What does your computer/motherboard manufacturer's documentation say
about your specific model?

Does it support hard drives larger than 128 gb? That does require a
specific capability that is often not found in computers that are 3
years old or older.

Post the computer/motherboard model back here if you need further
advice or assistance.

Good luck

There is a break point at 137 gig on Win XP SP1. You can use the
software from the disk manufacture to get around it. There was also a
patch from the SP2 trials on support.microsoft.com referenced in a
knowledge base article that microsoft has released for more general use
early.
