Install the harddrive physically. Make sure the jumpers are set properly.
Note: Sometime you may have to change the jumpers on the primary drive if
installing another as slave. This is the case for Western Digital drives
unless you already use Cable select.
After booting winXP the new drive will not be seen in explorer or my
computer.
Use:
Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --Administrative tools --> Computer
Management
Select Disk management. The New drive should appear
Here you can partition and format the partitions you create (right click on
the drive and you will get the options).
Note: I do not use quick format for a new drive. Full format takes awhile
but I recommend using it for a new drive rather than quick format.
