I have a computer running Win 2000 Pro. I recently
installed a hardware for hotswapable hard disk 160Gb. It
is working fine. In Dick Management, the hotswap disk is
listed as Disk0(Slave), CD-rom disk0(Master), OS Disk disk
1. It has been more frequent after i have installed all
the new updates from Windows update recently. It
automatically deactivates itself bout 1 time out of 5
times of computer restart. Can i know what is causing this
as it is very troublesome to have it reactivates itself
again after some time whereas last time i used to use push
on the power button ad it loads everything up. the
computer is used as a storage server and no one uses it.

Recheck the assembly twice.

P.S. Does dick :) mgmt really show disks 0 and 1 in reverse order?

Ok wait, Disk 0 is suppose to be the 1st slot and then
subsequently Disk 1. My disk 1, which is where i install
my OS, is actually connected to this card, where every
server shud have, it enables a faster access, write, and
read into the harddisk. Forgotten what u call it but what
i'm saying here is that, my OS Disk is not directly
connected to the MotherBoard, it's connected via this
card tat is in slot 1 of the board. and my CD-ROM reads
RDROM 0, which means it's on the same cable as my hotswap
Disk. But i have not checked yet, if my CDROM is on
Master mode and mthe Hotswap is on slave, or the other
way round, since the CDROM is on the 1st slot of the
cable. My hot swap disk is Dynamic and my OS Disk is
Basic. Thanks for your replies
