Some of the users at my company are experiencing this issue as well. Most of our laptops are the same model, same OS, and same version of Excel.

We're running Windows 7 with Office 2007. The problem is sporadic and not every machine is experiencing it, but it's the same menu that Dennis referenced.

Has anyone found a fix yet? I've been combing the Internet for weeks to no avail.

Hi, Has anyone found a solution to this problem as of yet? It is driving me nuts! If you have an answer or coupd put me in the right direction to one that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Out of interest what make & model of Laptops do you have?  I gave seen
this problem on a couple of HP laptops with windows 7. I not saying
its HP related, but it would be good if everyone else could post their
hardware specs.

As noted my users are using HP 6930p laptops. All of them are running
Windows 7 and they all have Office 2007 installed. They were all
built off the same image so if it's some kind of patch/driver issue
that would explain it. I just need to know what the cause is so I can
fix it. Please help!!!!

Also had this issue and found the solution for it today! At least this works for HP Laptops.

The problem is NOT related to Excel or any other application. It is something on top of them all, some process that is running hidden and in the background and only pops up, when an application is maximized to full screen and only active in this area of the screen.

I did an investigation with the ProcessExplorer Tool, activated the context menu and just saw which process was responding on this. Therefore I found out, that the process HPWAMain.exe was the problem. This is the HP Wireless Assistant application.

SOLUTION: If you deinstall it or just deactivate this process, it will solve the problem!

This is one of the weirdest problems I've ever saw...

Hope this helps!

Based on the information discovered in the previous post, I did some digging around on the HP website.

It was hard to find, but it appears that this was a known problem and a newer version of the HP Wireless Assistant software addresses the problem.

Version 3.50.12.1 can be found at:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...prodSeriesId=3687777&swItem=ob-84194-1&mode=5

Download and install the software and the problem will be gone. You may have to stop the HPWAMain.exe process manually if the install can't do it automatically.

Hope this helps.
