Hard Outlook problem to solve

I am using Outlook 2003, and have four accounts setup that are using IMAP.
Here is the problem that seems impossible to solve: I will get new emails
that show in bold. If I delete them or open them, they will switch to a
normal font (no bold). However, sometimes, but not always, the folder list
will still show as having unread messages. I will have to choose the "mark
all as read" menu item in order to get the folder to now show any unread
messages. It's like the folder list is not refreshing properly. This will
happen at various times on all four accounts. Can anyone please help me in
solving this? It is very annoying!

Try resetting the view. There might be filters in effect on that folder that
will prevent you from viewing all messages. If these are mailboxes you got
permissions for by Outlook (and not the assigned owner by means of Active
Directory Users and Computers) it could be that you do not have the
permission to read messages marked as private.
