Hard Drive XP Home

I just bought a new hard drive and want to put all the
stuff from my old HD on it. How do I do this. I tried
just booting the new HD and then putting all the stuff
from the old HD on the new HD, but I can't even get past
the booting of XPhome because it says I need an older
versoin of windows already on it. what am I to do.

What brand are the drives? Often if you go to one of these brands web site you can
download software that will copy the install from the old drive to the new.
