I got hit with a virus that when removed prevented me
from running any .exe files. So I've reformatted the
hard drive (using DOS 6.0 since that's all I had),
reloaded my original Win98, then used my WinXP CD to get
back to XP.

My problem is, I've got a 20 GB hard drive and Win98 and
XP only see 2GB.

What do I do now

Hello

Well you need to change your partition and you can do it
from with in windows or instead of going the route use Partition
Magic Another option would be to bac up your data and do a clean
install with XP (no need to load Dos or Win 98)

In your Bios make the CDROM the primary boot device, boot with
the WIn XP Cdrom and follow what it says to do, when prompted for
the Win98 just insert it and continue, during the process you will use
NTFS foramt and not fat32. One more thing and pretty sure your pc
should see the whole drive correct, if not just update your Bios

So even though my Win XP CD is the upgrade only version I
can still use it to do a clean install?

Thanks so much for your help

Hello Kris

Yes you can, just boot with the WIN XP cdrom, and during
the loading process it will ask you for your Win98 cdrom, just
have it their, it will copy a few files off, and then ask back for the
XP cdrom ok.
