Hi, Wayne.
It's not hard, in most cases. Just two steps.
1. From Vista, remove WinXP's "boot folder". This is always named
"\Windows, by default, and it will be in WinXP's "boot volume", which may or
may not be your "Drive C:".
2. To recover a small amount of disk space (probably less than half a MB),
delete WinXP's startup files from the System Partition. These are NTLDR,
NTDETECT.COM and Boot.ini. Also delete bootsect.bak, just 512 bytes, which
is the copy of the WinXP boot sector that Vista Setup made to enable
dual-booting WinXP.
I said, "in most cases". If your system is not typical, you may need
different instructions. If you need to post back, please include
information about your system, such as how many hard drives, how are they
partitioned, and where (on which partitions) are WinXP, Vista and any other
operating systems installed.
