i initially had may 80 GB hard drive partitioned into two 40s. i have
XP MCE, installed on the first one. on the second i was playing around
with linux and what not. recently i deleted the last partitions and
expanded the size of the first with a live cd. When i go to the
properties of my only local disk, C:, it save i have 31.3 GB free with
a total space of 40 GB. now i know that the first thing that will be
suggested is that although i deleted the partitions i didn't
successfully expand the first partition. HOWEVER: in Computer
Management, under Storage, Disk Managment it shows my one hard disk
FULLY partitioned in ntfs. All 74.53 GB, no breaks, no unpartioned
space. I even opened it back up on my live cd and it sees the entire
partition as ntfs with no breaks or unpartitioned space.
any ideas on what i have overlooked? do i need to image, format, and
ghost?
i'm running out of space to record tv shows and "the Office" starts
next week, HELP, i could use 40 more gigs!
Thanks in advance
