I added a second hard drive and everything works fine
except it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer.

That's a pretty big "except" :)

Has the second hard drive been partitioned and formatted yet? Does it show
up in Disk Manager? You can perform both of those tasks from the Disk
Manager tool. Click Start> Run and type in compmgmt.msc to open Computer
Management. Disk Manager can be found in the "Storage" section.

Sorry for the lack of information, tried to keep it short.
Installed an 80gig and made two partitions. ( drives e: & f:)
Kept the old drive (c:) installed for backup use.
They all show up in disk manager. I am running on drive e:.(faster drive)
Drive c: is the only hard drive listed in Windows Explorer or when saving
a download to a file location. Thanks for the prompt response.

Hmmm, usually the drives don't show up if they haven't been prepped or if
they have been prepped with a tool XP can't abide (GoBack, some of the
utilities by drive manufacturers such as certain versions of MaxBlast). But
in these cases, not only does the drive not show up but they are unusable.

Go back to Disk Manager. Are the drives listed as "basic" or "dynamic"? If
basic, try the "Rescan Disks" option under Actions. If dynamic, try
mounting the drives.

Also... If you have TweakUI for XP installed, take a look in My Computer>
Drives. Is there a check next to E and F? If no, add one. No check mark
will cause the drives to not show up in Windows Explorer/My Computer.

Sharon F,
Thank you very much for the prompt response. Your advice about TweakUI was
the answer.
I had forgotten that TweakUI was even on my computer. I would have never
solved this one
without your help. Thanks again.

You're welcome, Dave! Glad to hear that those drives finally showed up in
the right places for you.
