Tom

I've connected an old IDE HD. The BIOS can see it, but XP cannot -- There is
no D drive (well there is the CD-ROM, but that should be E), and the drive
manager cannot see it either.

I don't format the drive because its got some data from my old Win98
computer on that I want to move to my new computer.

Any ideas anyone?

I've seen problems like that before and fiddling with the jumpers always
fixed it. Sometimes removing the jumper or setting it to slave would allow
Windows to see it.

Ah, that fixed it: Thanks!
