Hi, After adding a 2nd hard drive (40gb Maxtor)to the PC, When rebooting I
keep getting the found new hardware installer, But it is unable to find a
driver for the new hard drive. The hard drive is visible in my computer and
under, Manage, Storage, The Hard drive is shown as formatted, running and
healthy. Maxtor have told me this is all correct and the problem must be in a
window's registry. Thank's for any info.....Mark.

What type of hard drive is it --- IDE or SATA? With the latter, a
specific SATA driver or controller file might need to be installed,
just to satisfy the Windows Registry.

Too bad you did'nt list the type of hardware youre MB runs...However,if
intel,
download & install the chipset installation utility for youre chipset type
(the
latest dwnload isnt usually the one)..Also,if you run a 850 or less
chipset,the
intel application accelerator v2.3 has the drivers for the IDE
controllers,the
chipset ID utility will tell whats running.

Hi Andrew, thank's for the help, Could you tell me please where to download
the Intel chipset installation utility from. Thank's
