I Installed a Western Digital 80GB drive. The jumpers are
correct and windows sees it but can't access it. File or
directory is corrupted and unreadable shows up. What to do?

You didn't say what OS you're trying to put on it or how
fast the cpu is... I had ooodles of problems with a
WD80Gig trying to load W2kPro on it. Finally managed it
by disabling the L2 cache (through BIOS/CMOS)which slowed
down the cpu. You might try that...

Is it a new HD with nothing on it? Clean install is the
only way to go with W2KP.

You most likely need to format it with a low level
formatter, have you tried to format it with the disk
manager??
