Hard Drive Partitions

Let me first say that I am no computer genius. That
being said, I would like to know how I can extended some
unallocated space on a hard drive and use it in an
already partitioned drive (C:). Basically, I have 1.86
GB of unallocated space on my hard drive. I want to know
how I can combine that space with the 7.46 GB of space on
my C: Drive. They are on the same "basic disk". I have
tried to read how to do this, but I'm not getting very
far. Is there a way I can use Disk Managment source to
do this?

Thanks,
Wesley

Using Disk Management, the only thing you can do with that
1.86GB of unallocated free space is to create a new partition
and format it. It cannot be allocated to an existing partition
using XP's unsophisticated DiskPart utility program.

The only way you can create, delete, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows installation, is to purchase and use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8.

The alternative is to perform a "clean install" of Windows XP:
