When I installed the full veersion of XP pro. It
partitioned my harddrive. The hard drive was originally
partition under windows 98. I am having alow diskspce
problem because the small part of the partition is 2.7
gb. Is there a way to unpartition the drive so that I
just have one big drive? How do I do this? I have every
thing backed-up on cd that is important.

Windows does not provide a way for this without losing all the data on
the prtitions. Third-party software like the Partition Manager can
help you around this.

I understand that I will lose all th info on the drive.
That is no problem. I have all the software to reinstall.

How do I unpartition the drive?

Hi, Mucsnarb.

As the other posters said, just boot from the WinXP CD-ROM and follow the
prompts, including the very early one that offers to repartition your HD and
to format the new partition. Unless you plan to install Win9x/ME on your
computer some day, let it format the drive NTFS. This offers more security,
both in the sense of confidentiality and in the sense of less chance of file
loss or corruption.

You will, of course, have to install all your applications again, even if
you have them backed up, because they will need to write their entries into
your new Registry.
