Hard Drive partition

I had two hard drives on an old installation of xp. they were partitioned and
i have formatted one drive (xp installation) and now i can not see the other
partitions on the second drive. Disk management can see the disk but only one
partition and it also says that it has not been formatted. i would like to
keep all data on this drive. Thanks in advance(if you have good news)

check your data cables

turn the machine off and open it up...

unplug and replug your ide cables (or replace them)

if you are lucky it may have been just a bad connection...

if not...run a harddrive diagnostic on the drive you cannot read...
if the drvie has not failed...you may be able to retrieve data using a
3rd party data recovery utility
