Let me guess, your 2nd hardrive is FAT32 created with
Win98. If it's true then your problem is similar to mine.
I suspect WinXP only recognized NTFS and FAT32 format
system created by himself. Other FAT32 created by older OS
won't be recognized. Your files are still exist -I hope-
Try to boot from Win98 and you'll see all your files in
2nd hardrive are still intact.

PS: If that's not the case, than you've got a problem :-))

Completely not true. I regularly put foreign hard drives in my "test"
machine running XP and use it to copy contents onto CDs for customers. These
hard drives have been formatted with everything from dos to Win3.1 to XP and
I haven't had any problems reading them.

The ONLY times I've had issues is if the drive itself has problems, or if it
was conpressed with drive space or something similar, or if it had a drive
overlay on it. Also, some drives partitioned with early versions of
Partition Magic can be a little odd sometime, but generally I can read the
data.

Your files are still exist -I hope-
