Had a heated argument with my supplier when he attempted
to sell me a case that required the hard drives to be
mounted upside down. Maybe I'm old school but in my
opinion the best way to mount any hard drive is right side
up, with the circuit board on the bottom. The springs and
motors aren't able to handle the added stress of being
installed upside down.
Please post your opinions and documentation. BTW, no
manufacturer's web site mentions mounting so it's mostly a
personal call. The machines I build however, last an
average of 8 years without hard drive problems.
