hard drive master, slave

I added a second hard drive to my computer. Every thing seems to be
connected properly, however, when I boot up the system, neither hard
drive is recognized. please help

Take the new drive out, does it work again?
What about putting only the new drive? Is it detected?
Are you sure they're jumpered correctly? You didn't give us any info about
your PC or drives... we can't read minds!

The BIOS probably has set the new hd as 1st priority in boot order,something
they all do by default when new hds are installed.Simply set old as 1st,this
being that youre jumper pins on all hds & cdroms/dvd,etc,are set to each
other

have you been into control panel / admin and / computer management and
created a partition and done a format
bill in OZ
