Hard Drive Looses Permissions

All,

I have just built a new server with 2 hard drives. The C:
drive is working fine. The D: drive however keeps giving
me weird problems. It seems that I keep loosing access to
this drive. I manually configured the permission on this
drive for the local and domain administrator. I can then
access the drive 1 time, and then on the second attempt i
get an "Access is denied" or "Windows cannt find the
specified file" error message. I then check the permission
on the drive and they are lost and gone. I have tried to
take ownership of this drive but the same results happen.
What the hell? Does anyone have an Idea. I have formatted
and repartitioned this drive several times to no avail.

I have also ran chkdsk too, but that did not fix it. Any
help you can give i appericaite.

TIA

DJ

Does this happen if you are booted into Safe Mode? How soon after building
the server did the problem first appear? What applications have you
installed since building the server?
