Just recently, the hard drive light my computer flashes every second.

I've checked with 'Filemon.exe' from Sysinternals to see what file is being
accessed, but nothing!

I'm sure this wasn't doing this last week!

Any Idea?

XP Pro, part of a domain and running Symantec AntiVirus. SATA Drive.

This seems to be "normal" behavior for WinXP perhaps caused by a
security update. I see the same thing on my WinXP Home SP2 system.

The problem seems to be related to the security system writing a report
about every second. You can see this at
ControlPanel/AdministrativeTools/EventViewer/Security. I consider it a
pain in the you know what but can't find any registry or program switch
to alter or prevent this security checking.

I've checked the event viewer and it's not writing an event every second.
There seems to be a gap of about 45 mins from the last event to the one
before.

I've got an XP Home version at home, and that's ok
