Hard Drive Issue

Hello, I recently unistalled a mulitplayer game that I
was having a download problem with, you see that game had
to keep doing a full scan for downloads to make it work
properly. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it work so
I unistalled it, and to my surprise a good deal of memory
was stilling being shown as used. I went back and made
sure that the entire game and all it's contents were
deleted but still I am missing at minimum 3 GB's of
memory. But, during this month period I tried to get the
game to work, I did recieve many updates for my Anti-
Virus program, and I did recieve 3 driver updates, but
none of them, unless I am truly underestimating the
updates, I think could be this large. Is there anyway I
can check for corrupt or junk files on my hard drive? If
any one can help me with this issue I would truly
appreciate it. Thank you very much for your time and

Check the folder where you installed the game. As you have uninstalled it
there should be no folders except where games were saved. You can safely
delete these if you no longer want to play the game. If you find old save
games and think you might want them later move them to another folder as
backup. I would empty your tempory internet files folder as this could build
up a small amount. The major part of your missing space is probably system
restore points. You can either turn off system restore reboot then turn it
back on. This would wipe out all restore points but create a new one when
you turn it back on. The other way is to right click your hard drive, click
properties, disc cleanup. go to the more options tab and at the bottom you
will see a cleanup system restore. This deletes all old restore points
except for the last created one. Also clear out all your tempory files and
folders in X:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp as they
can build up a bit.

After the clear out see how much space you have gained and repost.
