Not just an XP problem but someone may know....
I had to format my brand new 60Gb hard drive using an old DOS disk just to
get windows ME to recognise the drive. Now 'My Computer' only thinks it is a
2Gb drive, although on the BIOS it appears as a 60Gb still (although i'm not
sure if this has been updated since the disk was first installed). I have
tried reformatting through ME, scandisk but just seems to be stuck with the
settings it got from DOS(6.2.2 i think).
The history of why i had to format a new drive is that when i upgraded the
pc, despite being set as the master, the new drive was allocated F: behind
the old slave drive and the 2 CD roms. not sure if this helps.
any help appreciated.
