hard drive fails

When I returned to my primary computer yesterday it was
dead, no video, no keyboard LEDs. I replaced the video
card but still nothing.

I then removed the hard drive and reinstalled it in my
secondary computer. All appeared OK but I then received
the message "primary master drive fails".

Replaced the original drive in the secondary computer and
installed the hard drive in a removable tray. Booted the
machine and was able to access the drive and view data on
the drive. I now know the drive is OK, but it may have
boot problems.

As this drive has a program and data that will only run
if the drive is C: I would very much like to get my
seconday computer to boot from this drive.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Since there was no keyboard LED activity, most likely there is either no
power supplied to the motherboard or the motherboard is not working. Check
power which includes the power cord, power supply in the computer. Your
drive is OK but if you move the drive to another PC, you will have to run
the install from CD in order for the Windows to have the correct drivers for
the 'new' system. All programs installed ion this drive will be preserved
with the re-install.
