SCI-FI GUY

Hi,
I have never had a problem with any hard drive before but I think I
finally have one now. Here is my situation.
I have a Maxtor 120 GB One touch external usb hard drive. I have had
it for almost 3 months. It has worked perfectly with no problem. As of
yesterday I couldn't get into one of my sub folders on the drive. With
no experience I turned the drive off (trying to reset it) and then
rebooted and when I did, I could not get to the drive at all. I can
see the drive in the My Computer, although the name of the drive is no
longer there. Now when I try to access the drive here is the message I
get...
<driver letter>:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.

Please can anyone help me on what I should do. I have a great deal of
data on this drive and I am terrified that I will not ever get to it.
