If you question is whether or not to use the digitally
signed [or Microsoft certified] driver, the answer is to
read the manual, under the section describing installation
of driver files. The requirement varies from manufacturer
to manufacturer.

want to uninstall the driver not digitally signed(sonic ),how did it appear
in the device manager hard disk update list?

Hard drives don't require drivers, so where you're even seeing this is a
question. You might want to rephrase the question with some more details as
to what you're seeing, where, and what sort of problem it's causing.

Do NOT use winupdate for device drivers, use hw manu.web site only

That Sonic driver may not be a hard drive driver. This may be a driver
that is part of a CD burning system. Sonic is a software company that sell
such a software.

Wondering, however, if this is an USB external hard drive
or a hard drive in an USB case.

I wonder why are you uninstalling, just because its not digitally signed
doesn't mean anything

I've never needed drivers for those, either. Just plug 'em in and they go.
The only drivers might be for the USB hub or whatever, but that should
already be installed in a normal computer, and I doubt anybody would call
them hard drive drivers.

I have a feeling we're dealing with some miscommunication or
misunderstanding here.
