My pc has two disk drives. I noticed today when i placed a disk in the first
drive nothing happened and in windows explorer the "D" drive is not listed
anymore, just E.

When i put a disk into the drive, it spins and the light flashes but the
computer doesnt react its as though it is not aware of it or maybe not
connected.

I recently had more memory added to my computer, could something have become
dislodged such as wire that needs to be connected? If so could someone talk
me through it?

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help?

1. With the computer unplugged, open the case and reseat the ribbon cable
and power supply connector going to the optical drives.

2. Start the computer and you will see an immediate prompt that says
something like "Press [some key] to enter SETUP". Press that key which will
get you into the BIOS setup. Do not change anything here, but just look and
see if all drives are listed. Use your arrow keys to navigate. If the
drives are listed, exit the BIOS setup and allow the computer to restart
and boot into Windows. Is the drive seen now?

Report back after doing this for more help if needed.
