Hard Drive Connections Help

Hi,

I got everything connected except for the hard drive. I'm using IDE round
cables and need to know where is pin #1 on the hard drive is, if you were
looking at the back of it. Sorry it's not labled.

Pin 1 is at the same end as the power connector

The missing pin is pin#20, and is therefore on the even side. Counting
the pins from the outside (in 2s, starting at 2), the empty pin will
be 20, if you start at the side with pin 1.

Don't you cables have a lug on them which should line up with a notch on the
HDD?

Not all ide cables are keyed.

Not all ide cables are keyed.

I know, but I've yet to see a round cable that isn't (always a first time I
suppose...
