Does anyone know how to get an Hitachi 120 gb hard drive
to work in Windows 2000 Pro? This hard drive will format
and boot using Win98 for a test of functionality but will
not boot once Windows 2000 Pro has been installed.

Have you tried another hard drive in the same computer with Windows 2000?
Usually a 120GB hard drive will not be any trouble for Win2k, but the same
computer that runs Win9 fine may have trouble with 2000.

If this sys was origonally running win9*, you ran the win2k compatibility
checker, prior to attempting the win2k install?
Assuming you did a clean install of win2k, were there any err.msgs?, you
tried safe mode?
