HARD DRIVE camcorder (right newsgroup?????)

First visit to this newsgroup.

Hope I am asking in the corect place but can anyone here give advice on
hard drive camcorders. I have found only JVC one,s. Any advice offered
will be appreciated.

Please reply to newsgroup as SPIREPANTRY has ceased trading.

Are there any Usenet newsgroups dedicated to camcorders, exclusively,
however?

The only one I could find (using Google) is <and it's a very low-traffic place, with nearly everything written in
Russian (Cyrillic alphabet).

In my first google attempt, found Toshiba as a alternative. Google also
listed alt.video.desktop as an appropriate newsgroup by 3 examples.

Some sites refer to a camcorder as a camera. I know, makes it more
difficult to sift it. But not when the "hard drive" addendum is added.

I never reply to email requests at a newsgroup.

All you really need is to find where camcorders are discussed.

That appears to be mostly with the word video used
instead of camcorder in the newsgroup name.

Yeah, that's one of the dinosaur fido groups, WAY past their useby date.

Indeed, I knew of such groups. I thought you'd meant that
camcorder-specific ones existed...which sounded doubtful, to me.

Fido was actually what preceeded newsgroups and the net.
And yes, that was well before russia imploded politically.
 
mostly come from jvc. bad reviews. i thought it's a cool concept but
not until they fix all the problems and get more companies like canon
into the market.
