I have two hard drives. One is a system drive, and the other is an 80
gig drive with two partitions. One of the partitions is used as a
system backup, the other partition is used for data storage. Last
night, I was doing some file transfers on the data drive when the
computer locked up. After rebooting, I discovered that my data drive
no longer is listed as G:Data, but as G:LocalDisk. When I attempt to
access it, I am given an error saying that the drive is unaccessable.
The computer is now running slow, and the drive light flashes on for
about 5 seconds, then off for about two. I left the computer on all
night, and it is still doing this. Is WinXP attempting to fix the
G:Data drive, or is it a lost cause? I would really hate to lose all
of my files on my Data drive. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you would email me at (e-mail address removed) I would appreciate it!

If you can access the PC, make sure you are not afflicted with any
trojans, viruses, so forth...
Can you access the 'other' partition on that physical drive?
